Poppy Centre
Starting with Yellow Yarn
Create a Slip Knot leaving a tail of yarn and CH 2
Round 1 – 5 SC into 2nd chain from the hook and pull tight, SL ST into the first stitch of the Round (5ST)
Change to Black Yarn
Round 2 – 1 HDC into every stitch around, SL ST into the first stitch of the round (5ST)
Poppy Petals – First Layer
Change to Red Yarn
Petal 1 – CH 3, 5 TR’s into the first stitch, CH 3 and SL ST into the same stitch as the TR’s,
Petal 2 – CH 3, 5 TR’s into the next stitch, CH 3 and SL ST into the same stitch as the TR’s, *repeat petal 2 until there are 5 petals.
Do Not Finish Off, continue to work on the Second Layer of Petals
Poppy Petals – Second Layer
Round 1 – Working behind the first layer of petals, into the stitch that is at the bottom centre of the Petals (also known as the Back Ridge), 1 HDC into every stitch around skipping the very last stitch and SL ST into the first stitch of the Round (4ST)
Please Note – This is optional – I only wanted 4 Petals for the Second Layer so I just skip the last stitch and SL ST into the first stitch of the round but you can always add the fifth petal in by not skipping the last stitch
Round 2, Petal 1 – CH 3, 5 TR’s into the first stitch, CH 3 and SL ST into the same stitch as the TR’s,
Petal 2 – CH 3, 5 TR’s into the next stitch, CH 3 and SL ST into the same stitch as the TR’s, repeat petal 2 until there are 4 petals.
